What is Life Science?
Life Science is a branch of science that deals with living organisms and life processes. This year, we will investigate and study the scientific method, ecology, cell parts and processes, genetics, characteristics and classification of living things, bacteria, viruses, fungi, plants, animals, and the human body. You will be conducting experiments, researching, making models, and working on group projects throughout the year. One of my favorite projects is the edible cell! Yum!
Are you ready for an adventure?
We are going to explore Asia, Africa, and the Middle East in social studies this year. We will learn about the geography, people, animals, culture, and religion of each region. You will be given opportunities to participate in classroom debates, sample ethnic foods, and discuss current events. You will also take part in two on-line adventures called AfricaQuest and Asia Quest. During AfricaQuest, you will follow along with a team of experts as they travel through the Great Rift Valley searching for the remains of our earliest ancestors and investigating why so many of Africa's great mammals are disappearing. During AsiaQuest, you will retrace Marco Polo's route along the Silk Road. Are you ready to go?
